Fallen Ash Tree Cleared from Busy School Route
Last week we were called out to deal with a fallen ash tree that had blocked a busy pathway regularly used by local schoolchildren and parents.
The tree had collapsed suddenly, causing a major obstruction and raising safety concerns for everyone using the route. On inspection, we discovered that the tree had a large cavity hidden beneath thick overgrown ivy.
Unfortunately, this structural weakness had gone unnoticed until the tree gave way. It’s a reminder of how important regular tree inspections and maintenance are, especially when ivy is left unchecked as it can hide signs of decay. Our team quickly responded to the emergency, clearing the tree from the pathway to make the area safe again. Once the immediate risk was dealt with, we returned to remove the remaining waste and ensure the site was tidy.
Some of the logs were stacked for a local resident, meaning the wood could be recycled and put to good use rather than going to waste.
At Maidstone Tree Surgeons, we pride ourselves on keeping our local community safe and making sure tree waste is reused wherever possible.
If you have trees near public paths, schools, or busy access routes, it’s always worth having them inspected to avoid unexpected hazards.
